Who's behind Westroot.

Westroot is Jake Motsenbocker — a senior technologist with more than fourteen years architecting, administering, and integrating systems across the energy and government sectors.

My work spans cloud infrastructure on AWS, automation and scripting, secure systems integration, and the hands-on application administration that keeps production environments running. It's a career built on the unglamorous part of technology: making sure the software, the servers, and the data flow behind a business actually work, day after day.

On the energy side of that, from 2016 to 2022 I worked at MPLX — a major U.S. midstream operator — first as a Commercial Applications Administrator and then as an Advanced IT Business Analyst, with FLOWCAL and TESTit among the systems I ran. I handled the builds, deployments, and administration for TestIt and FLOWCAL, stood up the environments, got the field client working on users' laptops, and wrote the PowerShell and Bash automation that moved measurement data between the field, our corporate systems, and the back office. I was technical lead on the application-merge and upgrade work that rebuilt and optimized those data schedules and scripts, coordinating change management, QA, and environments across IT and the business.

My lane is the technical layer — the servers, the software, and the data flow that measurement runs on. I have a deliberate focus on the systems side so your measurement team doesn't have to, and you get someone who's kept these exact platforms running instead of learning them on your dime.
